UPM Raflatac, the Finnish security labelling producer, will be present next week at SDW (Security Document Word) on 26-28 June 2017 in London. While companies worldwide lose the equivalent of hundreds of billions of euros each year to goods that are counterfeit, interfered with, or diverted in the supply chain, security labelling produces an efficient and versatile response to threats against brand image and consumer safety.
Quad Industries, Agfa, imec and TNO announced that they have demonstrated a plastic 12-bit RFID tag and read-out system with screen-printed circuitry. The system integrates, for the first time, a screen-printed antenna and printed touch-based user interface, allowing implementation of the reader on curved surfaces. The demonstrator has been designed for badge security applications, but holds promises for many other applications, including smart packages, wearables and interactive games. <
The new Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) chip, with embedded cryptographic Root of Trust (RoT) and machine learning capabilities, will form part of the company’s IoT cybersecurity vertical platform, ’’allowing IoT devices to organize themselves into trusted networks based on mutual authentication, identity and integrity.’’
